Blog Post #2

The narrative "Tétiyette” is about an important life lesson that all teenagers should learn. This story is about a young girl who falls in love with materialistic things and rejects anything that is not up to her standards. Her parents try to warn her and give her advice, but she ignores them and continues with the same mindset. She turns down a pig and a pig because they had nothing, but when a devil came to her, she fell in love with him because he was wearing nice clothes and wore all the gold he had. Her mother told her that he may be a devil and recommended that she do a test to determine if he was human or a devil. The test showed that he was a devil, but the girl lied to her mother and said that he was human.
At that point in the story, her mother lost hope for her daughter. The devil began to eat her and the daughter kept screaming out for help, but her parents felt that they had done all they could. Her brother stops the Devil by slitting the Devil's belly.
I believe the narrative's message was that young kids and young adults should listen to their parents. I also believe their was a message in the narrative for the parents . I think that it was saying that parents should never give up on their children; even if they don't obey all of your rules.
